Originally launched on BBC TV on January 1st 1964 Top Of The Pops became one of the world's longest running music shows. Although the TV edition ended in 2006 the iconic name continues on BBC World Service.
Since 2003 Top Of The Pops has been a weekly show broadcast around the world on the network and the BBC's partner stations.
Presented since 2006 by Kim Robson, each week the programme showcases the UK's album and singles charts, with interviews and features.
The music policy reflects the diverse genres that are in both charts and each week its totally unpredictable. Thats the wonder of the British music charts and its fully reflected each week on the programme.
As well as Kim, the programme each week features journalist and producer Trevor Smith who takes an indepth look at a new release and the weeks music news.
